Christmas in July for Dare To Be Sassy Thursday for Sassy Studio Designs

Love me some Christmas, I do!  Doesn't matter to me what time of the year it is.  Being down in Florida, it is so hot that doing a theme of Christmas in July kind of cools me off a little.  That's our theme this week for the Dare To Be Sassy Thursday for Sassy Studio Designs.  I love it because you can do some different takes on the colors.  I decided to go with some lighter colors, pinks and greens!

Victorian Holiday Sassy has always been one of my favorite images because I think she looks so delicate and feminine.  She's colored with copics and has stickles on her coat and dress.  The green and pink papers are from Recollections and I used my Nestabilities to make the snowflakes and covered them with Pearl Tattered
Angels spray.  The gems are from Studio G and the ribbon is from my stash.

Here's a close up of her.  Don't you think she's just so pretty?

Here's a pretty good view of the snowflakes.

I love the snowflakes in the bottom right corner.  This is one of my favorite die sets!  I'm going to enter her into the following challenges:

Crafts and Me - Anything goes
Inky Impressions - Christmas in July
Paper Minutes - Anything goes

A Little Bit of Metal for Elphine House Australia

It's time again for another challenge over at Elphine House Australia!  This time, Lynda challenged us to use some metal on our project.  This was a stretch for me because metal is something that I don't have much of in the way of craft supplies or embellishments but I did the best I could with what I have!

Daisy: Standing Tall has always been one of my favorites and I thought she's be perfect for the metal sentiment I found.  It says "Moments" and when I look at this cutie pie, I see her remembering or either making a moment.

I colored her with copics and added some stickles to her dress, hat and flowers.  I cut her out with Nestabilities and added some pearls and glass gems on metal stems.  This gorgeous papers are from an Authentique paper pack called Remembrance that I got from Kim at Cutter's Creek.  The pearls are from Hero Arts, the ribbon is from Simplicity, and the sentiment is from Close to My Heart.

Here's a bit of a closer look at her.

I absolutely love the sweet faces that Elisabeth Bell uses in her illustrations.

Thought I'd share a few close ups of different parts of the card.

Absolutely gorgeous, don't you think?  I used some Diamond Glaze on the ribbon on her dress and hat.

Here's a vie that shows some of the dimensions of the card.

I plan on entering her in the following challenges:

Make sure to stop over at the Elphine House Australia Design Team blog and see the other gorgeous creations that my fellow designing team buddies have in store for you.  They're nothing short of spectacular and I'd hate for you to miss them!  And join us for our challenge and get your metal on!

A Glorious Day, It's Allie's Birthday!

This is gonna be pretty quick because we're off to the beach to celebrate my granddaughter, Allie, who turns 5 today!  It's so hard to try and figure out where all the time has gone.  I look at her now and she's getting ready for kindergarten, Daisy Girl Scouts, a new home, so many changes coming up for her.  Then I sit and remember the first time I laid eyes on her right after she was born.  As I am with all my grandchildren and my girls, I was just taken.  Taken to a place I never thought my heart could go.  I didn't think I had much room left in my heart after I had my children.  It was so full of love for them.  But I think God totally enlarges our hearts and reserves a place that we're not aware of existing because it's held for grandchildren.

Here's a few pictures of her doing some of the things she loves best:

Swimming! I swear she was born a fish!

Playing dress up!  Gosh, she must change clothes 4 times a day!  And she does love her some high heels!

Coloring and painting!  This is her at Easter coloring eggs with my sweetie pie niece, Ella.  Aren't they just too sweet?

And showing off a card she helped me make.  She was so proud of this and let me tell you, she colors so well with my copics that it's a shame not to let her use them!

This child makes me laugh every day and you can't ask anymore of anyone than that.  I love her and know that I'm so blessed to have her in my life.  God is very good to me.

If you've read this far, I really appreciate it and want to post a card that I did for Elphine House Australia's last challenge but was so sick that I didn't get it posted. This is Emma Gifts of Love from Elisabeth Bell for Elphine House Australia and I love her!

She's colored with copics, has stickles all over her dress and is cut out with Nestabilities.  The papers are from a gorgeous My Mind's Eye paper pack and the flowers are homemade.  The pearls are from Hero Arts and the seam binding is from Stampin Up.

This cutie pie is absolutely gorgeous and you can use her for just about any occasion.

Here's a couple more looks of her.

I hope everyone has a fabulous day and enjoys this cutie pie.  As for me, I'm off to the beach for some fun and sun!
