Class Act Blanche

There's nothing more elegant than a clean cut, no nonsense woman.  Blanche, a digi by Saturated Canary, is what I call a class act.  She's sharp, intelligent, takes no prisoners.  Somehow I think she always gets her way!

Blanche was colored with copics, the gems on her ears are from Mambi, and the swirls are from my stash. The papers are from Paper House's Impressions stack. I used some Diamond Glaze on her sash and lips and I offset the image with my Nestabilities.  I tried to keep her really clean and simple.  Hard for me but I did the best I could!  Here's her close up:

And a peek of the inside.

I love clean and simple sometimes.  Perhaps I should give it a try more often!  Hope everyone has a great day and enjoys the weekend!

Beach Marci - Take Me Away

I had to go and do me another beach card!  I hope you don't get tired of me posting anything about the beach, sea, water, or ocean.  I love it so!  My sign is Scorpio and yep, that's a water sign!  Beach Marci digi stamps by La-La Land Crafts is me to a tee!  Well, I'd like to be sweet, young, and innocent, but unless someone invents a time machine, that's ain't gonna happen!  I did this cutie for the La-La Land Crafts facebook challenge of adding dots to your image.  Here's my cutie pop:

I colored her with copics, used some gems from Mambi and the paper is Shine-On from Basic Grey.  I love that stuff!  And did you notice the flowers?  My dear friends, Karen and Sheri, over at The Frugal Scrappers group, have great tutorials and ideas for doing flowers and bows (the bows will be tried in the next couple of days!) and I absolutely love and adore their sweet natures and hearts as much as their blogs (they're both terribly talented!).  Stop over and see their fabulous work.  Everyone over at that group are so encouraging and inspiring.  It feels like being around a huge crafting table with your absolute best friends having coffee and stamping and crafting up a storm when you're there.  Love everyone in that group!Oh, and yes, I added some stickles and used my new Glitter tap on her as well.

Here's this little sunkissed face:

Here's one of the side views:

And the other side:

And Judy, just for you, the full inside!

Hope you enjoy this card because I had a blast making her!  Hope everyone has a great evening!

Let's Play Dress Up!

I remember when I was little, my cousins and I would get all of our crinolines (anyone remember those?), our junk jewelry, and our mom's and aunt's old shoes and play beauty pageant.  We would pile slip over slip until we could hardly walk up the steps on the back porch.  Even at 5 and 6, I was loving me some bling!

Dress Up Marci reminded of all those twirls and struts we made all over the neighborhood.  When I saw Dress Up Marci in the digi section of La-La Land Crafts, I had to snatch her up!  I simple adore these sweet Marci and Luka stamps and images.  And oh, what fun they are to color! I found out this past week that Irina, the owner of La-La Land Crafts, is going to be here in Ohio in late October and I can't wait!  Can I say road trip?!

I colored this baby with my copics and added some Diamond Glaze on the ribbon on her hat and sash around her waist.  The papers are from a calendar kit from DCWV and the pearls are from Studio G.  I added some stickles to her sunflower, shoes, and the flowers, and some distressed ink around the circle.  I love her sweet pearls!  A gal after my own heart!

Here is her sweet face close up:

I had fun decorating the inside of this cutie pie's card and decided to show both sides today!

Marci does a much better job of playing dress up than what we used to but gosh, we had fun and thought we were the most glamorous things in town.  I'm sure the neighbors had a good laugh at us!  So go treat yourself to something that made you feel special when you were little.  Keep that child in you alive!

Have a great, playful day!

Right Through My Heart

I was looking through some of my papers yesterday and got so excited when I found this sweet Tilda that I had totally forgot that I had stamped up and hadn't colored her yet!  I know she's an older stamp, but gosh, they need love too.

I think Right Through My Heart Tilda is perfect because she reminds me of the Archery team from the Olympics, which I am going to miss and am already looking forward to the winter ones in 18 months, and one of my favorite books I've recently read, The Hunger Games, that is coming out on DVD next week!  I've gotta pick it up as soon as it's in the stores.

I colored her with copics and yep, used Stickles around the dress and on the arrows.  This gorgeous paper is from Graphis 45 called Le Romantique.  I added some flowers with stickles at the bottom to kind of make it look like she was standing in a field with dew on it (Katniss would go hunting early in the morning, hence the dew/stickles!).  I used a piece of silver from the stem of some bridal flowers on the bow.  Instead of ribbon, I used some Scrapper's Floss and a wooden button and gold heart.

Here's a close up of her.  I love her concentration!

I added a flower to the inside and thought she came out pretty nice.

I am entering her in the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown
Daring Cardmakers

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Russia Honey - Baby It's Cold Outside!

First I have to wish my beautiful daughter, Nichole, and her wonderfully fabulous husband, Branden, a one day late Happy Third Anniversary!  They are so lucky to have found each other and I'm so lucky for the gift of having Branden in my family.  And my sweet little Lainie Loo is the icing on the cake!  I hope your day was as special as the two of you are!

When I saw this gorgeous image, Russia Honey, from Sassy Studio Designs, Nichole popped right into my mind!  My baby girl does love her some cold weather!  I can just see her dressed up in a classy dress like this and the hat and muff just look too cozy.  For me, well, we all know I'm a hot weather gal!  But just because I hate the cold, that doesn't mean I don't like to color the cold!

The layout I used for this beauty is the Sassy Studio Design Dare to be Sassy Thursday and I had such fun with it!  She's colored with copics and the patterned paper is from my stash and the brown is Co'oredination brown and teal that was embossed with my Cuttlebug Snowflake folder and sanded to make the teal pop (I love doing that!).  The corners are from a punch and the pearls are from Studio G.  I added some Stickles to her hat and muff and Diamond Glaze to her lips and eyes.  My Inkessentials tool was used to add some distressed ink to the sentiment.

Here's her gorgeous face:

She's just so dramatic but so classy looking!  I dressed up the insides just a little bit.

I'm also entering her in the Crafty Catz challenge.

I hope you enjoyed her and if you're somewhere where it's hot, I hope she cooled you off just a little!  Enjoy!
