Wishing for Spring!

Spring time is one of my favorite times of the year. The snow is all gone, most of the time, the grass goes from brown to green and East comes. Along with Easter comes girls in beautiful dresses and little chicks. Everyone loves to be outside and breathing in all that fresh air and it's just cold enough to need just a scarf on your head to let the ears adjust to the crisp, fresh air. Children gathering chicks just means spring to me!

Tilda with Chicks is from the new Easter line of Magnolias that should be available shortly from Summer at Roses on Paper. I did her with the beautiful Porcelain pack and brads and some prima flowers and a touch of stickles. I adore this line of Magnolias so make sure you keep checking in. Summer will have a limited supply of them and you want to make sure you're ready for the glorious Easter holiday! I was trying how to present this cutie and I thought the sketch from Sketch Saturday was perfect! You guys rock over there and I love all the DT cards!

One thing that stays with me all year long is coffee and Lattebella is all dressed up in her new spring colors! Doesn't she just look fabulous? I love the mint greens and aquas in the paper pack Euphoria from Basic Grey. Gosh, I love their papers! The sketch is our first sketch at Stamping Bellalicious! Come on over and have a look around. We'd love to have you join us!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm off to babysit for a friend of mine. He's on his way to Iraq and I want to give him some time out with his wife before he goes. Be back to chat with you tomorrow!

Goodluckabella and Mis Chief the Devilish Leprechaun!

I adore Stamping Bella and have never met a Bella that I didn't like! It's the same way with these Smirks! Both of these lines just catch my imagination and send it off! Mostly everything I used for these I got from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design (SCACD).

Goodluckabella just makes me smile! She's done as my first card for the new StampingBellalicious yahoo grooup that's been started. If you love Bellas, we'd love to have you come and join us! She's so cute collecting up all her four leaf clovers and putting them in her pot of gold! I love the bow on her pot of gold and all the glitter on her!

And then there's Miss Chief, by Smirks, as an Irish leprechaun! Now she makes me laugh out loud! One of the girls I work with at the bowling alley asked me to work for her on St. Patrick's Day because she just turned 21 last weekend and it's her first big holiday out to celebrate. This will be Nikki - Glitter, tail and all! And the croocked sentiment "Trouble with a capital T" will be perfect!

If you like these cutie Smirks, Susana is offering a special from her store. If you buy 3 SMIRK stamps get a free SMIRK sentiment stamp just note in comments which one you would like when you check out offer good thru the 15th!!! With these cutie pies being only $3.95 a piece, you can scoop up a ton of them! Just tell her I sent you!

Believe it or not, but it's not even 11:00 and I'm off to bed. I'm hopefully going to find my pot of gold at the end of that rainbow in my dreams!

Try It Out Tuesday #9 - Lark

The more I do sketches, the more I love them. Suzanne, our ever talented Design Team Leader for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design has given us a beauty to work with. I'm trying to put my own spin on the sketches and take a little bit of creativity in them so I turned the sketch. Bear with me and I'll get there!

Faeries, to me, are those magical beings that are all around and make all things possible. They protect us against the big, mean dragon and all the fire it can blow our way. Lark is such a delicate looking faerie but don't underestimate her. She can slay anything that crosses her path.

I stamped her on GinaK's Luxury white card stock and colored her with copics. I highlighted her with shimmers and stickles. The swirls and flowers are from a Hello Kitty Sizzix die and I adore the metallic brads. the paper is from Once Upon a Time by DCWV and I made the hatpin. I love the amber color.

Speaking of our Design Team, I've got tons of news to tell there. Aud has graciously agreed to join us as a permanent Design Team Member and I'm so excited to introduce you to Karolyn Loncon who has agreed to be one of our Guest Designers. Welcome Aud and Karolyn I'm so glad to be creating with you both! Make sure that you check out our Follow Your Heart Design Team blog and see what my other team mates have come up with and their interpretation of Suzanne's sketch. Don't forget about the Guest Design Team Member Call that Suzanne is having. You can see all the details on the store blog. We'd love to have you create and design with us!

Card Ingredients:
Lark by Faerie Art Song, Iced Lavender and Pixie Wing Shimmerz, Metallic Dew Drops, Stickles, Once Upon a Time paper by DCWV, nestabilities, Hello Kitty Sizzix die cut, Blue Moon heart charm, ribbon, hatpin.

Sick and a Kiss

This cutie pop (I love that phrase, Suzanne!) has been trying for three days to get here to you. She's been smudged, not try and I think just sick! His name is Sick Shy Bear, and you can find him at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. I was trying to find just the right paper for him to make it look like he was in his bedroom sick and getting over the flu. It's been a way of life around our house lately and well, we're SICK of it!

I colored him with copics and used some Shimmerz on him and Crystal Laquer to show all the liquid he's been drinking. Oh, and please don't forget the tissue! This tissue box is from the Lockhart Stamp Company and I added a personal touch to the box (Puff's by the way!). And I just received my Metallic Dew Drops from Susana and oh, are the gorgeous!

Well, Chloe isn't worrying about any flu going around! A Kiss for Chloe is one of my favorite Sarah Kay stamps that Summer carries at Roses on Paper. This stamp reminds me of that first kiss that comes from your first real love. Gosh, they're just adorable!

I stamped these sweeties on watercolor paper and used Distressed Inks on them. The paper is from a gorgeous stack from Prima papers and the flowers are also from Prima. I highlighted them with some stickles and used some pearls on these sweeties along with some spacers to give them a bit of a rustic look. I love the sheer gold ribbon and think it's just beautiful.

Thanks so much for bearing with me while I've been fighting the flu for so long. I promise I'll try and make the wait up to you.
